We are asking all of our patients, who currently smoke, to ‘take the leap’ and get ready to quit on No Smoking Day being held on Wednesday March 14.

Stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do for your own health, not only will you feel better by improving your skin and oral health but your finances will also improve, saving on average more than £2,300 per year.

Tom has recently undergone an intensive training programme so he is able to offer this new and specific orthodontic procedure.

The Six Month Smile is a cosmetic  brace system involving light forces to gently move your teeth to their new position.  The process is safe, comfortable and and efficient.

With carol singers serenading, we were welcomed with a glass of mulled wine and canapes.  This was followed by a sumptuous 5-course dinner which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

The rest of the evening was spent ‘disco dancing’ with some particularly interesting moves by Tom! (hope you’ve recovered in time for Christmas!)

Marie Whittingham, Surgery Manager, drew the winning ticket for a fantastic Dental Hamper.

Paul Chesney, a regular patient at the Practice, was delighted with his winnings: “Within the past week, I have received a tax rebate and won this super hamper – it must be Christmas!”

Diamond Dental is committed to raising awareness of the early symptoms and the main risk factors to its patients.

Supported by Denplan, the Campaign is dedicated to raising the profile of this preventable disease.  It is estimated that an alarming 30,000 lives could be lost in the next decade.

Lauren, one of our dental nurses, devised a poster informing patients as to:

• the main risk factors i.e. smoking, alcohol, diet and sexually transmitted infections
• facts and figures about the disease

This is on display in Reception for all of our patients.

Early detection is the key to saving lives.  We recommend a dental health check every six months at which the mouth is screened for oral cancer.

A very informative and enjoyable session was had by all, we came back full of enthusiasm and lots of ideas as to how we could further improve our health focussed approach to patients.
